What's New in Civil 3D 2024
The workflow for adding multiple baselines during modeler modification has been improved:
- The dialog box for creating/editing a baseline modeler is now the Add Baselines dialog box and includes the different baseline selection tools available during the creation of the modeler.
- The functionality of the Select from Map button in each baseline row has been improved. The path selector allows you to select multiple paths at the same time, and likewise, the feature lines selector allows you to select multiple feature lines in a single selection process.
- Select two types of baselines, including paths and profiles/feature lines, during the modeler creation process.
- Extended selection options for feature lines used as baselines: filter feature lines by name, style, layer, and bounded area to narrow the selection scope.
- After multiple selections, it is no longer necessary to press SHIFT or CTRL to make multiple changes.
- A warning message is displayed when there are no feature lines that meet the preset filter.
- The ability to create and modify modeler transitions has been improved:
- The ability to create a transition by selecting the .NET class name of the type section component has been added. This allows you to create transitions using type section components with different display names, but with the same .NET class name.
- Type section components selected based on the .NET class name are marked with a blue triangle in the Modeler Transition Overview view.
- Support has been added for locking lengths in a group of transitions that allows you to easily move the transition along the baseline. To lock a group of transitions, position the cursor on the Parameter column in the row of the transition group to display the lock icon and click on it to lock the transition group. When a transition group is locked, the lengths of the specified interval ranges in that group are locked, but their positions change every time a progressive value is modified.
- Support has been added that allows you to define the priority of transitions and transition groups and to specify the processing order of transitions. These options are useful when multiple transitions or transition groups are applied to the same progressive interval and you want one to have a higher priority.
Note: Transitions are applied in the order they appear in the Modeler Transition Overview view, from top to bottom. The lowest transition in the list has the highest priority, as it is applied at the end of all previous transitions.
System Requirements for Civil 3D 2024
Operating system Microsoft® Windows® 11 64-bit or Windows 10 version 1809 or later. For support information, see the Autodesk Product Support Lifecycle page.
Processor Minimum requirement: 2.5-2.9 GHz (base) processor. ARM processors are not supported.
Recommended: Processor of at least 3 GHz (base) or at least 4 GHz (turbo)
Memory Minimum requirement: 8 GB
Recommended: 32 GB
Screen resolution Conventional screens: 1920 x 1080 with 16.8 million colors
High resolution and 4K screens: resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 (with "Recommended" video card)
Graphics card Minimum requirement: 2 GB GPU with 29 GB/S bandwidth and DirectX 11 compatible
Recommended: 8 GB GPU with 106 GB/S bandwidth and DirectX 12 compatible
DirectX 12 with feature level 12_0 is required for the Shaded (fast) and Shaded with Edges (fast) display styles. Make sure to use the latest versions of the video card drivers available on the manufacturers' website.
Note: Civil 3D uses the computer's video card for a number of essential graphic operations, including, for example, view manipulation, line smoothing, and text/line type generation. It is recommended to have a video card with dedicated VRAM to support these operations at optimal speeds.
